Procedure
Abdominoplasty or tummy tuck is performed in an outpatient setting under general anesthesia. An incision is made below the bikini line and an additional incision around the navel. The excess skin and fat is pulled down and removed. Most patients add liposuction to better contour the waist.
Patients go home the day of surgery and recovery may take several weeks. Most patients return to work in one to two weeks. A compression garment is worn for several weeks to help tighten the skin.
